A number of years ago, Chris was approached by a couple who wanted to leave what they described as their “boring 9 to 5 lives” to run their own combined bed and breakfast and tea-shop business. They had found an existing business in Wales which they wanted to purchase and had also found a buyer for their house.
Chris prepared a business plan for them and helped them to structure their business and raise the money they needed to complete the purchase and start their new life.
A few weeks after the purchase completed Chris received a “thank you” letter from the couple which ended with the sentence ‘It must be so nice having a job that makes people’s dreams come true!’ and those words have motivated and enthused him ever since.

A previous Business Health Check we undertook highlighted that the financial risk management skills and processes within the business were not at the level we would have expected.

How we delivered value
A bespoke training intervention was devised using the client’s own accounts to illustrate the key areas of financial risk within the business and the measuring and monitoring that should be undertaken to enable them to effectively manage these. What could have been a difficult situation was turned into an enjoyable and valuable day as evidenced by the feedback below:
